Best BitMart alternatives — and how to move your funds
BitMart announced on July 26, 2026 that it's shutting down. Deposits and new registrations are already closed, spot markets have stopped taking new orders, and everything else ends August 26. For eight years this was where you went for the small-caps nobody else listed — so "just use Coinbase" isn't a real answer for most BitMart users.
We compared 16 exchanges on what actually matters here: how many tokens they list, what spot trading costs, whether they'll take you as a customer in your country — and what each one's catch is. Plus a step-by-step exit plan, because getting out cleanly matters more than where you land.

What BitMart users should do now
- Export your transaction history first. Full trade history, deposits, withdrawals, PnL. You'll need it for taxes, and once the platform winds down there's no guarantee you can ever retrieve it.
- Don't send anything to BitMart. Deposits are suspended — funds sent to old deposit addresses may be unrecoverable.
- Cancel remaining open orders and redeem any Earn, staking, or Launchpad positions back to your spot balance.
- Check where each of your tokens can go. Look up each one on CoinGecko or CoinMarketCap to see which exchanges still list it — here's how, including what to do when the answer is "nowhere".
- Open the destination account now. KYC on a new exchange can take hours or days. Don't leave it for deadline week, when every other BitMart user is in the same queue.
- Submit withdrawal requests early — ideally before 05:00 UTC on Aug 26. Late requests face extra compliance checks and longer queues.
The official shutdown timeline
Two dates are fixed, one is a recommendation, and the last one doesn't exist yet. This is the schedule from BitMart's own announcement — most of the confusion around this shutdown comes from mixing these dates up.

Recommended withdrawal cut-off
BitMart asks users to submit withdrawal requests before this time. Later requests still process, but may face extra compliance checks — identity re-verification, source-of-funds questions, wallet ownership proof.

Final account-access deadline
BitMart says login, history access, and withdrawal requests will remain available "for a limited period" after January 31 — but has never published the end date of that period. Don’t plan around a window nobody has defined.

⚠ Every exchange shutdown attracts scammers. This one already has.
BitMart has stated it will never charge an "expedited processing fee", an "account unfreezing fee", or a "security deposit" — there are no paid priority-withdrawal channels, full stop. Nobody from BitMart will ask for your password, 2FA codes, private keys, or seed phrase. Anyone contacting you on Telegram, WhatsApp, or X offering to "speed up" your withdrawal for a fee is stealing from you. Use only the official BitMart domain you already know — no "migration portals" with login forms.
Three ways out, depending on your situation
There's no single "best BitMart alternative" — the honest answer depends on where you live and what's in your account. Most guides skip this part; it's the part that matters.
You want the closest BitMart replacement
You hunt small-caps and new listings, and you're not in the US, UK, or Canada. MEXC is the nearest thing: ~1,676 listed coins, 0% maker / 0.05% taker. Gate is the runner-up (~1,563 coins) and the only small-cap venue here with a MiCA license — the better pick if you're in the EU.
You need an exchange that's legal where you live
US, UK, and Canadian residents are blocked by most of the table below — and "blocked" discovered mid-withdrawal is the expensive kind. Go regulated: Coinbase or Kraken in the US, MiCA-licensed venues like Bitvavo, Kraken, or Bybit's EU arm in Europe. Fewer small-caps, no availability surprises.
Your token isn't listed anywhere else
The BitMart-specific problem. Sell into USDT while BitMart still has a market, or move the token to a self-custody wallet and trade it on a DEX if it has on-chain liquidity. If it has neither buyers nor liquidity — that's a loss to document, not a reason to leave everything stranded.
All 16 alternatives, compared
Favorites first, regulated picks second, the rest after. Filter by your country — that one click eliminates more wrong choices than any fee comparison. Coinbase, Kraken, and Bitvavo don't pay us anything; they're in the table because for US and EU users they're often the right call anyway.

Fees are base tier without token discounts. Coin counts are CoinGecko-tracked spot listings, fetched 2026-07-30 — exchanges' own marketing numbers run higher. "Partial" means state-limited, spot-only, or existing-customers-only — check the exchange's own restricted-countries page before funding an account. Rows marked Unclear: we couldn't verify current status and won't guess.
What to do with tokens no other exchange lists
BitMart listed over a thousand tokens, and a long tail of them trade nowhere else. If that's your bag holding, you have three exits, in this order:
- Sell on BitMart while you can. Small-cap order books are thinning out ahead of the halt — spreads widen first, then bids disappear entirely. If you're going to sell, earlier beats optimal.
- Withdraw to self-custody. A token lives on its blockchain, not on BitMart. In MetaMask, Rabby, Phantom, or Trust Wallet it survives the shutdown indefinitely — you can decide what to do with it later.
- Trade it on a DEX. If the token has a liquidity pool on Uniswap, PancakeSwap, or Raydium, you can still trade it without any exchange's permission. Check DexScreener for real liquidity before counting on this.
The full guide covers how to check listings, add custom token contracts safely, verify DEX liquidity, and what to do when a token is truly stranded: what to do with BitMart's delisted tokens.
Withdrawing from BitMart: the short version
- Export your complete transaction history (do this before anything else).
- Open and verify your destination account — KYC takes hours to days.
- Redeem Earn/staking positions; deal with orphan tokens per the guide above.
- Match networks exactly on both ends (TRC-20 vs ERC-20 vs BEP-20 — and don't forget the memo/tag for XRP, XLM, EOS).
- Send a small test amount first — just above the minimum withdrawal, enough to cover the network fee.
- Verify the received test, then move the rest. Check the first and last four characters of every pasted address — clipboard malware spikes around exchange shutdowns.

How we compare, and why you can trust the numbers
Every number in the table has a source: official fee schedules, official restricted-country pages, CoinGecko for listing counts (fetched 2026-07-30), and regulators' registers for license claims. Where we couldn't verify a figure from at least two independent sources, the cell says "—" or "Unclear" — we'd rather show a gap than a guess.
Rankings are set by fit for a BitMart user — listings depth, spot costs, country access — not by who pays us. Some links are affiliate links and we may earn a commission if you sign up through them; that never changes an exchange's position or its risk warnings. BitMart shutdown FAQ
Is BitMart really shutting down?
Yes. On July 26, 2026 BitMart announced an orderly cessation of operations, citing "operating conditions, market environment, and future strategic direction." Deposits and new registrations stopped the same day. All trading ends August 26, 2026 at 01:00 UTC, and platform operations wind down on January 31, 2027. This is an announced, structured shutdown with a withdrawal window — not an exit scam or a sudden collapse.
Can I still trade on BitMart right now?
Mostly no. BitMart stopped accepting new spot orders in stages from July 26, 2026, and futures accounts were moved to reduce-only mode. Whatever limited activity remains ends completely on August 26, 2026 at 01:00 UTC. Treat BitMart as withdrawal-only from today: cancel any open orders yourself, or the system will cancel them for you.
What happens to my funds after August 26?
Withdrawals stay open. BitMart recommends submitting withdrawal requests before 05:00 UTC on August 26, 2026 — later requests still process, but may go through extra compliance checks: identity re-verification, device and IP checks, address screening, and source-of-funds questions. Queues get longer as deadlines approach, so earlier is genuinely better.
Is there a final deadline to withdraw?
Not a published one, and that should worry you. The platform formally winds down on January 31, 2027 at 15:59 UTC. BitMart says account access and withdrawal requests will remain available "for a specified period" after that — but it has never said how long that period is. Don't plan your exit around an undefined window. Withdraw now.
What about Earn, staking, and Launchpad positions?
BitMart says Earn, Staking, Lending, Launchpad and similar products "will be discontinued in phases according to their respective product arrangements" — there is no single date. Open your Earn dashboard, redeem everything redeemable, and move the proceeds to your spot balance so they can be withdrawn. Don't assume a locked product will unlock itself in time.
Which alternative is best for US users?
A licensed platform: Coinbase, Kraken (most states), or OKX's US arm (~40 states). Most offshore exchanges in our table — MEXC, Bitget, Bybit, HTX, CoinEx and others — explicitly block US residents. Signing up through a VPN means trading on a platform that can freeze your funds the moment a compliance check notices. See the full US guide.
Which alternative has the most listings?
MEXC, with roughly 1,676 CoinGecko-tracked spot coins — more than BitMart itself had at the end (~1,078 tracked, 1,700+ claimed). Gate is close behind at ~1,563. No exchange lists everything BitMart did, though, which is why we wrote a separate guide for tokens that aren't listed anywhere else.
What if my token isn't listed on any other exchange?
You have three options, in order of preference: sell it on BitMart for USDT while there is still a market; withdraw it to a self-custody wallet where it lives on-chain independent of any exchange; or trade it on a DEX like Uniswap or Raydium if the token has on-chain liquidity. If it has no liquidity anywhere, document the loss for your taxes. The delisted-tokens guide walks through each path.
Is BitMart a scam? Did they steal user funds?
No. This is an announced wind-down with a functioning withdrawal process, which is very different from a collapse or exit scam. BitMart operated since 2018 and survived a $196M hack in December 2021, after which it pledged to make users whole. The real risks now are practical: shrinking liquidity, compliance queues, and the scammers who circle every exchange shutdown.
Do I need my BitMart trade history for taxes?
Yes — and this is the most commonly forgotten step. If you sold anything in 2026 (and selling on BitMart before the halt counts), you need cost-basis records for your tax return. After the platform winds down, there is no guarantee you can ever log in again to fetch them. Export your full trade history, deposits and withdrawals today, before touching anything else.
